A few tennis stats of my own (data courtesy of ATP) right at the start of the US OPEN: while it is true that almost half of all men's tournaments YTD 2015 have been won by players ranked within the top 10, there are a few facts that stand out: ATP 250 tournaments are won by players well distributed among the ranks of 1-100 Uzbek tennis player Denis Istomin did win the AGEON open ATP 500 in Nottingham in on June 27, 2015 at rank 92 American player Rajeev Ram, known as a double specialist, did win the Newport Hall of Fame Championship ATP 250 while being ranked at 161 SUI player Wawrinka did win the French Open this year while being ranked 9th All the Masters 1000 tournaments went to the top 3 ranked players (Djokovic (4), Federer (1), Murray (2)) Fact: " while rank determines majority of the winners, there are a few oddities..."
